Kirilenko Trade Rumors

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

While watching this video of Western Culinary Institute my friend called me on the phone to tell the latest trade rumors in the NBA. He was very excited to tell me regarding the Andrei Kirilenko, Shawn Marion, and Lamar Odom rumor trade. It has been over the news that Shawn Marion will likely to go to Lakers to joined his friend Kobe Bryant for a possible playoff run. Andrei Kirilenko has expressed his disappointment with the current structured play of Jerry Sloan and he wants out of the team. Kirilenko has recently lead his russian team to win the gold at FIBA-Europe Championship and become the MVP of the tournament. The trade also involves Lamar Odom and Brian Cook to be sent to Utah.

Lamar Odom has proven to the league that he’s almost unstoppable when he’s healthy. The problem with Lamar Odom is to remain healthy. He can give you 40-50 solid games a season but the rest he’s right at the bench watching his team because of series of injuries. Lakers need someone that could give them a lift in the defensive end because as of the moment their poor defense is the problem why their not a contender in the title. With addition of Shawn Marion Lakers can be one of the toughest team in the NBA. Let’s wait and see on what will happen before the tip-off.

Teams To Watch On NBA Season 2007-2008

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

I’m back again for another NBA scoops and insights. With 2007-2008 season is fast approaching, nearly 6 weeks left before the tip-off I have to make a prediction and hypothesis on who’s team has the chance to win the precious NBA title. Too bad I won’t be there to watch the tip off because I’m scheduled to inquire here. Back to the story, Dallas was knocked-out by the less favorite Golden State Warriors, led by Baron Davis and company last season, but they still my favorite team to win the NBA title. The reigning world champion San Antonio Spurs is also my favorite to win the title. As long as they stay healthy (Duncan, Ginobli and Parker). This two teams will reign supreme in the Western Conference.

How about in Eastern Conference? Does Miami and Detroit can still be the favorite to win the eastern conference title? Probably yes and probably no. It would take a matter of time before we could predict on what team will clinched to the NBA Finals. With the recent addition of Garnett and Ray Allen on the lineup of Boston, they can still be a contender if they could gel on the team. What about the surprise young team of Toronto Raptors? They also have the chance but not sure if they race to the next level this time. They need to atleast double their intensity and effort this year because the
“NBA Powers” are shifting to eastern conference right now. There are too many teams in the eastern conference still have the ability to reach the NBA Finals atleast. Some of them are New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls.

Russia won the EuroBasket2007

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Coming off a buzzer beater, Russia won the gold medal on the recent EuroBasket2007. Russia subdues the reigning world champion Spain with a slim margin of 1 point. It was really a close game from the start and up to the final buzzer. Andre Kirilenko a.k.a. AK47 lead the team with 17 points. And not only that, he also led the team by showing examples and leadership to his teammates. I’ve downloaded the game winning basket by Jon Holden on my iphone so that I could remember the game for years to come.

It was a historical game for Russia because they haven’t won the tournament since they joined the tournament the last time their country won the tournament they we’re called Soviet Union before which won 14 golds on EuroBasket. With the win Russia is now qualified to Beijing Olympics next year and together with Spain and Lithuania to complete the European team that will compete on Olypics.
